Green Tour Itinerary

Cappadocia Green Tour is a little bit longer than the red tour. However, there is a lot of variety on this tour.

The places that you are going to see during Cappadocia Green Tour are;

Esentepe Panoramic Viewpoint: It is a spot where you will be taking great photos on a hill overlooking ancient Göreme town. You will be explained some history and geology of the region.

Kaymaklı Underground City: There are 36 underground cities in the neighborhood and Kaymaklı is the largest of all. Nobody knows for sure who were the first to live in there. Most probably it was the Hittites who carved the very first levels of this underground city, then it was the Christians who were escaping from Roman persecution at the time.

At some parts of the underground city, tunnels are narrow and ceilings are low and if this would be a problem for you, please talk to your tour guide for advice.

Ihlara Valley: One of the biggest conyons in Turkey. It is a perfect place to hike and peace out. We walk through Ihlara entrance and take some steps to get to the bottom of it. Then we walk along the river and visit a couple of churches dating back to the 9th and 10th centuries.

After walking 1 km of Ihlara Valley, you will see a nice familt-run cafe where you are going to have some time off. You can enjoy the view and take some great photos there. After done with  the cafe, we walk toward the restaurant for another half an hour. The restaurant is by the riverside and the menu is quite pleasant.

Selime Monastery: Up to this point, you will have seen a lot of points and might feel a little bit of tired. That’s why, you might not find the idea of more cave churches and a climb up a mountain  appealing, but once you make the effort, you won’t regret it. The climb is not as bad as it seems from the bottom level and there are nice stops where you can have some rest.

An Advice: It is not slippery climbing up but a bit steep and narrow in some parts. That’s why we always recommend our guest to wear proper footwear.
